A tutorial for users on how to create a gallery of images in WordPress and insert it into the post. I will also show you how to edit or delete the gallery.

How to create an image gallery
WordPress allows you to add a gallery of multiple images to a page or post. The procedure is very simple. To add a gallery, click “Add File”. You will get the same window as if you were adding a picture (I wrote about this topic in the post: How to add an image in WordPress).
If the images you want to add to the gallery are not in your media library, click “Upload Files” and upload them from your computer.
Select “Create Gallery” in the media library in the menu on the left side of the screen. Click to access the gallery creation menu. Select all the images you want to add to the gallery. When you click on a selected image, WordPress will tick it for you. After selecting the images, click “Create New Gallery”.
Setting of image gallery
You can edit the created image gallery in this window. To change the order of illustrations, drag the image you want to move by mouse. Then move it to a new location.
In the right column, note the options for setting:
Link to – set the multimedia file here. This will open the image in full size in browser.
Columns – set the desired number of columns. For a nice gallery look, the number of columns should be between 3 and 4 according to image size.
Random order – tick the box to display images in the gallery in random order.
Size – here you can set the size of images in which they should be displayed in the gallery.
Clicking on a particular gallery image will also open the image description option.
Now click “Insert Gallery”.
Editing and deleting a WordPress gallery
After embedding a gallery, it may happen that you would want to delete it or modify its appearance. When you click on the created gallery in WordPress visual editor, you will see two small icons:
Using them, you can:
Remove — deletes the gallery. Deleting a gallery from your post will not delete it from the media library.
Edit — takes you to the gallery and images settings window.
