The best website builders let you create a professional website, blog or online store without coding. I compared ten of the most useful platforms based on ease of use, features, pricing and suitability for different types of projects.

laptop

Quick summary

For most long-term projects, my top choice is WordPress with Elementor. Beginners should consider Webnode, Wix or WebSupport. Hostinger offers strong value and useful AI tools. For e-commerce, I recommend Shopify for international selling and Shoptet for Central European stores.

Best website builders compared

The platforms differ mainly in flexibility, ease of use, e-commerce features and total cost. I checked the prices in the table on July 31, 2026. Promotional prices, currencies and billing terms may change, so always review the current offer before ordering.

How I evaluated the tools

I did not rank the platforms by price alone. I considered editor usability, template quality, SEO options, AI features, e-commerce tools, localization, support, growth potential and how difficult it is to move or expand a website later.

  • ease of building and managing a website,
  • template quality and mobile responsiveness,
  • SEO, analytics and marketing features,
  • AI tools for copy, images and site structure,
  • e-commerce, payments and integrations,
  • introductory and renewal pricing,
  • language availability and customer support,
  • flexibility, data ownership and migration options.

1. WordPress + Elementor

I recommend WordPress with Elementor to most people who want to grow their website over time. You control the hosting, content and functionality, and you are not locked into a single hosted editor. Elementor makes visual page building much easier without requiring coding skills.

WordPress is a free, open-source content management system that can be extended with themes and plugins. Elementor adds a visual drag-and-drop editor, templates, responsive controls and, on paid plans, advanced forms, dynamic content, headers, footers and WooCommerce design tools.

Price

WordPress and the basic version of Elementor are free. You mainly pay for a domain and hosting. At the time of the update, Elementor plans for one website started at roughly $60 per year, depending on the plan and current promotion.

Pros and cons

The biggest advantage is flexibility and the ability to move, customize and extend the website. The trade-off is that you must manage hosting, updates, security and backups. Initial setup is therefore more demanding than with an all-in-one builder such as Webnode.

  • Pros: excellent flexibility, thousands of extensions, control over data and strong SEO options.
  • Cons: requires hosting, regular maintenance and a slightly steeper learning curve.

2. Webnode

Webnode is my first choice for beginners who want to launch a website quickly without technical maintenance. It offers a simple editor, responsive templates, multilingual websites, AI-assisted content creation and options for business sites, blogs and smaller online stores.

You can start with a template or let AI suggest the basic structure, copy and images. The editor is clear, and most changes can be made directly on the page. For a standard presentation website, you do not need to install software, manage updates or configure hosting.

Webnode
Webnode

Price

Webnode can be used for free on a branded subdomain. Paid plans add a custom domain, more storage, email accounts, removal of platform branding and, depending on the plan, e-commerce, backups, multilingual versions and more advanced analytics.

Pros and cons

Webnode is easy to use and well suited to beginners. Its main limitation is lower flexibility than WordPress and fewer options for a large store or highly customized functionality. A custom domain and professional features require a paid plan.

See my full Webnode review.

3. Wix

Wix is a versatile website builder with a large selection of templates, apps and integrated AI tools. I recommend it to users who want extensive design freedom without managing hosting or technical updates. It works well for portfolios, service businesses, blogs and smaller stores.

Wix offers more than 2,000 templates, a visual editor and an AI website creation workflow. You can extend the site with apps and manage marketing, bookings, forms, analytics and online sales from the dashboard.

Price

The free plan uses a Wix subdomain and displays Wix branding. Paid plans support a custom domain and add more storage, analytics, payments and e-commerce. Exact pricing depends on the country, currency and billing period.

Pros and cons

Wix stands out for ease of use, design choice and built-in features. Complex layouts may still require manual mobile adjustments. Another limitation is platform lock-in, as moving a finished Wix website to another system is not straightforward.

My Wix review explains the platform in more detail.

4. Hostinger Website Builder

Hostinger Website Builder offers one of the best price-to-feature ratios for a simple AI-assisted website. One package includes hosting, an editor, templates, AI tools, a first-year domain and basic e-commerce functionality. It is particularly suitable for small businesses and freelancers.

The drag-and-drop editor includes more than 300 templates. AI can help with site structure, copy, images and SEO. A key benefit is that hosting and the builder are bundled together.

Price

At the time of the update, the Premium plan was available for €2.99 per month with a 48-month commitment. Renewal was €9.99 per month. The plan included three websites, 20 GB of storage, a domain for the first year, email accounts, AI tools and an integrated store.

Pros and cons

Hostinger is affordable, quick to set up and includes AI features. The lowest price requires a long subscription, and renewal costs more. It is also less flexible than a self-hosted WordPress website.

5. WebSupport Website Builder

WebSupport Website Builder is a practical option for a simple business website or small online store. It combines a drag-and-drop editor, templates, AI assistance for copy, images and structure, professional email and customer support.

Its main advantage is simplicity and having the essential services in one place. It suits users who do not want to manage WordPress, plugins or ongoing technical maintenance.

Price

At the time of the update, Website Builder started at €3.99 per month with annual billing. Higher plans add storage and features. Check whether VAT is included and what renewal conditions apply before ordering.

Pros and cons

Strengths include easy setup, a clear interface and support. Compared with Wix or WordPress, the ecosystem of templates, extensions and advanced customization is smaller. For a large store or custom web application, I would choose another solution.

6. Shopify

I recommend Shopify to stores that plan to sell internationally or through multiple sales channels. It combines store building, product and inventory management, orders, analytics, marketing, social selling and point-of-sale tools in one platform.

Shopify offers ready-made themes, a large app marketplace and the Sidekick AI assistant. Its administration is designed specifically for commerce, making it clearer than general-purpose website builders for a professional online store.

Price

With annual billing, Basic cost €19 per month, Grow €56 and Advanced €289. Shopify may charge an additional transaction fee when an external payment provider is used, depending on the plan.

Pros and cons

Shopify is stable, scalable and supported by an excellent app ecosystem. Paid apps, themes and transaction fees can increase total costs. Check local payment, invoicing and logistics integrations before committing.

7. Shoptet

Shoptet is one of the most practical choices for an online store targeting the Czech and Slovak markets. It provides a localized interface, support, invoicing and logistics integrations, add-ons, responsive templates and features designed for day-to-day e-commerce operations.

You can start without coding and test the platform before launch. Shoptet supports product imports, order and inventory management, SEO, comparison engines, carriers, payments and extensions.

Price

The Free plan supports up to 10 products. Basic cost €16.50 per month excluding VAT and supported up to 100 products. Business cost €55, Profi €91 and Enterprise €173.50 per month excluding VAT. Shoptet advertised a 10% discount for annual payment.

Pros and cons

Its main advantage is strong regional localization. Costs can grow with higher plans and paid add-ons. Shoptet is also focused primarily on e-commerce rather than being a general-purpose website builder.

8. WEDOS WebSite

WEDOS WebSite is a simple editor for a small presentation website, business card site or basic page without coding. It includes ready-made templates and blocks, responsive design and a free starting option. It is particularly relevant to existing WEDOS customers.

WEDOS WebSite
WEDOS WebSite

Price

WEDOS lets users start building for free. Because prices and conditions vary with the selected services, check the current cost of the domain, operation and add-ons before completing an order.

Pros and cons

The editor is easy to use and integrates with a hosting provider. Compared with Webnode, Wix or WordPress, however, it has a smaller ecosystem and fewer advanced extensions. For a growing content website, I would prefer WordPress.

9. MioWeb

MioWeb is a specialized platform for entrepreneurs selling services, online courses, e-books or membership content. In addition to a standard website, it includes e-commerce, membership areas, sales funnels, campaigns, webinars and other marketing tools in one monthly subscription.

The platform is designed to replace several separate plugins and services. It includes a website, blog, hosting, domain, security, backups, updates, support and more than 83 marketing tools and functions.

MioWeb
MioWeb

Price

The current plan cost €79 excluding VAT, or €95 including VAT, per month. A 14-day trial was available for CZK 1. Each additional website under the same account cost CZK 1,000 excluding VAT per month.

Pros and cons

MioWeb can replace several separate tools and is well suited to online selling. It is unnecessarily expensive for a simple business card site. Another limitation is strong dependence on one platform and its workflow.

10. Webflow

I recommend Webflow to designers, agencies and companies that need precise visual control and an advanced CMS without traditional coding. It is not as simple as Webnode, but it offers much greater control over layout, responsiveness, animation and page structure.

Webflow positions itself as an AI-native platform. The free Starter plan is suitable for testing and includes a site on a subdomain, a limited CMS, two static pages and AI features. Paid plans add a custom domain, more pages, greater bandwidth and advanced CMS capabilities.

Webflow
Webflow

Price

Starter is free. Basic cost $15 per month with annual billing and was designed for a simple website without a CMS. Premium cost $25 per month with annual billing and included a CMS for content-heavy sites. Prices are per website and exclude applicable taxes.

Pros and cons

Webflow provides excellent design control and professional tools. Its interface and pricing structure are more complex, and users benefit from understanding web design fundamentals. I would not choose it as the first builder for a complete beginner.

Other alternatives

The following tools did not make the main top ten, but they can be useful for specific projects. Squarespace and Framer are particularly attractive for visually focused websites. Compare the remaining options with the main recommendations based on pricing, localization and growth potential.

Squarespace

Squarespace suits photographers, designers, portfolios, restaurants and smaller creative businesses. It includes polished templates, website editing, e-commerce, bookings and marketing features. In 2026, it uses the Basic, Core, Plus and Advanced plans.

Squarespace
Squarespace

Framer

Framer is a modern option for landing pages, marketing sites and design-heavy presentations. It has a free plan, built-in SEO and a CMS. Basic cost $10 per month and Pro $30 per month with annual billing. I would choose another platform for a large product catalogue or local online store.

Weebly

Weebly has a simple drag-and-drop editor and a usable free plan. For a new project, however, I consider it less future-proof than Wix, Webnode or Hostinger, especially if you expect ongoing development and modern AI tools.

Weebly
Weebly

Jimdo

Jimdo focuses on fast creation of personal and business websites. It suits users who value speed over detailed design control. Its customization and extension options are more limited than WordPress or Wix.

Jimdo

Duda

Duda is particularly relevant to agencies and professionals managing multiple client sites. It includes a responsive editor, team features and project management tools. For an individual beginner, it is usually more complex and expensive than necessary.

Strikingly

Strikingly works well for simple one-page sites, portfolios and event pages. It is fast to use, but larger websites soon encounter limitations in structure, design and advanced functionality.

WebStarts

WebStarts can create a simple website with a visual editor. Compared with the main recommendations, it feels less modern and offers a weaker ecosystem, localization and growth path.

One.com

One.com bundles a domain, hosting, email and a website builder. It can be practical for a simple project, but compare the editor limitations and renewal price with Hostinger or WebSupport before ordering.

BiznisWeb

BiznisWeb is a regional platform for websites and online stores. Its main appeal is local support and commerce features. Compare it with Shoptet for e-commerce and Webnode or WebSupport for a standard business website.

Gator

I no longer recommend the original HostGator Website Builder, known as Gator, for a new project. HostGator stopped offering it to new customers. Existing users can continue using it, but Hostinger, Webnode or WordPress are better choices for a new site.

Is an AI website builder worth using?

AI can significantly speed up the first website draft, but you should not publish the output without review. Modern builders can propose a structure, copy, images, colours and basic SEO. You still need to verify facts, adapt the offer, add contact details, review legal pages and improve calls to action.

  • verify all facts and automatically generated claims,
  • replace generic copy with genuine business benefits,
  • use original photos or properly licensed images,
  • improve titles, meta descriptions and internal links,
  • add privacy, cookie and commercial terms where required,
  • test mobile display, speed and every form.

Which website builder should you choose?

Your choice depends on the type of project and how much you expect it to grow. A simple site does not need an expensive e-commerce platform. A growing project, however, should not be built on the cheapest tool if migration will become necessary in a year.

  • Personal site or portfolio: Webnode, Wix or Squarespace.
  • Business website: WordPress + Elementor, Webnode or WebSupport.
  • Simple AI-powered site: Hostinger Website Builder.
  • Central European online store: Shoptet.
  • International online store: Shopify.
  • Courses and memberships: MioWeb or WordPress.
  • Design-focused site: Webflow or Framer.
  • Maximum flexibility: WordPress + Elementor.

Conclusion

For most long-term projects, I recommend WordPress with Elementor because it provides the best combination of flexibility, data ownership and growth potential. Webnode is simpler for beginners, Hostinger provides good-value AI tools and WebSupport offers an easy all-in-one service. Choose Shoptet or Shopify for e-commerce according to your target market.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best website builder?

My best overall recommendation is WordPress with Elementor. It offers excellent flexibility, strong SEO options and control over the website and data. Users who do not want to manage hosting and maintenance should consider Webnode or Hostinger Website Builder.

Can you build a website completely free?

Yes. Webnode, Wix, Webflow, Shoptet and Framer offer free plans. These normally use a platform subdomain and may include branding or functional restrictions. A professional business website generally benefits from a custom domain and a paid plan.

Which builders support multiple languages?

Webnode has strong multilingual website features, while WordPress can support almost any language through its ecosystem. Availability in Wix, Webflow and other hosted builders depends on the editor, templates and localization tools included in the selected plan.

Is WordPress better than Webnode?

WordPress is better for a flexible, growing website because it offers more themes, plugins and migration options. Webnode is easier and requires less technical management. Webnode can be more practical for a small brochure site, while WordPress is stronger for a content-led project.

What is the best tool for an online store?

Shopify is the stronger choice for international selling and expansion. Shoptet is highly practical for Czech and Slovak markets because of local integrations and support. A small store can also be built with Webnode, but a specialized platform is safer for a larger catalogue and order volume.

Can AI create an entire website?

AI can produce an initial website draft with a structure, copy and images. The output still requires human review. Check facts, branding, the offer, SEO, legal text and mobile presentation before publishing. AI is a useful assistant, not a replacement for strategy.

How much does a website builder cost?

A simple builder may cost only a few euros per month, while a professional online store or marketing platform can cost tens or hundreds. Consider the renewal price, domain, email, apps, transaction fees and any professional assistance, not only the introductory promotion.

Can you move the website to another provider later?

It depends on the platform. A WordPress website can usually be moved to another host with its database and files. Hosted builders often limit full export of design and functionality. Consider possible migration before choosing a long-term platform.
