Have you figured it out yet? The cruel truth they just create a good article or website is not enough and it does not promote itself?
You got brainstorming and created a plan for what subpages to put on your site, as well as a plan for content marketing and blog articles. But, readers are not in droves and you are still wondering why traffic to your website and your articles is low?
So in this article, you’ll find step-by-step instructions on how to optimize your subpages or your blog to get more readers with Google. You will also find many other ways how to increase site traffic , but you shouldn’t miss Google, because every day thousands of people are looking for solutions to problems that you can help them with.
Online marketing is changing from year to year, strategies are changing, procedures are changing. But, one thing is changing slowly. They are people. And if they look for answers, they will also go to a search engine and look for answers to the questions that bother them.
Unless this changes, Google will be a very useful source of traffic. And you can be sure that it will not be otherwise in the foreseeable future. Admit it, you recently searched for something on Google.
Let’s see how you can use it too.
Google has its own algorithm to evaluate the relevance of your article to search terms. You can think of it as a criterion that you use to make important decisions. The more criteria an alternative meets, the more likely you are to choose it.
Google “thinks” similarly. It tracks the criteria your article meets, the weight of those criteria, and decides which sites to prioritize.
If you know these criteria, you will have a better chance of placing in the first place. And that also means increasing the traffic to your site.
Let’s go.
Step no. 1 – Select the appropriate keyword (s) for the article
It’s hard to believe, but it’s true. If you see keyword searches through the Keyword Planner, small changes in word order or variations can fluctuate in search.
For example, the word “website creation” had an average monthly searches of 260 from December 2015 to November 2016, “website creation” 480 “and” website creation “up to 2400.
So, if you had a subpage in the text word creation instead of creation, you could lose a lot of traffic. That’s why Atomer, which dominates the top of Google, has subpages for both keywords. Not just one.
Choosing the right keywords is a basic step when you want to know how to increase website traffic.
Step no. 2 – Incorporate the keyword into the main SEO factors that Google takes into account
Title
Together with the title of your article, there are 2 strong factors that help you get to the top of the search. It appears in the search engine with blue text.
If possible, put the keyword at the beginning. For example, if you optimized an article for the keyword ‘how to train properly’, then the title How to exercise properly: The X tips you should keep in mind are better than the X tips you should keep in mind if you want to exercise properly .
Meta description
It appears in the search as a short description under the title Title and url address. The label should be a maximum of 150-160 characters.
Having a keyword in the description is no longer a factor as it used to be, but you can use it to increase your search engine clickthrough rate, and that’s a factor. If no one clicks on your results, Google will evaluate them as irrelevant and then move them lower in the search results.
In addition, Google will always highlight your keywords, so it’s definitely better to have them in your meta description. The only question that remains is how to write it in a way that arouses interest.
The easiest way is to formulate a problem – a solution.
For example: Can’t handle s (keyword)? In this article you will find a detailed description of how to achieve (desired result) in 3 steps.
And don’t forget 160 characters to make sure you see it correctly in your search results.
URL
Like the meta description, the url doesn’t carry as much weight as it used to, but the keywords in it still add less power to increase position.
If you use WordPress, the url address is automatically drawn from the title of the subpage or article. But you can easily change it directly in the settings.
How to design it? What should be its length? And what about declension?
Google’s algorithm doesn’t have a problem reading longer URLs, but it’s unnecessary because they would be truncated in search results anyway.
I follow the rule of ± 6 words, because they are usually displayed correctly, and according to Matt Cutts, the former head of web spam surveillance at Google, more weight is given to words in the top five that are in the top five.
According to Google’s Matt Cutts, the first 3-5 words in a URL are given more weight. #seotips #seoforbusiness #smallbusiness

H1 article title
The titles of your articles should have the tag h1. If you use WordPress, it does it automatically. It’s important that it includes the keyword you selected in 1. step. Without it, you will not be able to increase website traffic much. While Google is wise enough to recognize context and synonyms, not every search result

Subheadings h2
Large clusters of text are repulsive and demanding. If you divide your text into smaller parts, they will be easier to digest. The subheadings within the article are great for that. You can easily set them up via WordPress as follows:
Be sure to include the keyword. You don’t have to include each subheading, but if possible, use it at least once.
In addition to h2 level headings, you can use h3 level headings if you would like to break down your text more. Although the h3 subheading doesn’t matter much from an SEO point of view, if you can push a keyword in there, it certainly won’t hurt.
Keyword at the beginning of the article
Many people start with a long introduction and use the keyword later in the text. But to help Google better understand what your article is about, use a keyword as soon as possible. Ideal somewhere in the first hundred words.
Keyword density in the text
Once upon a time, you would just need to “translate” the text with your own word and you should take care of good positions on the first page. That doesn’t work today. And not only does it not work, but it can also harm you.
How does it work today? I do not know. I really don’t know and I don’t think anyone has the exact answer.
If you look for “ideal word density for seo” or something similar, it will give you a lot of results, but nothing specific.
From my own experience, I can tell you that it’s better to have a keyword three times on a page of 150 words than to have it only once in the beginning.
If you are writing a longer article, it is not enough to have the keyword used only once. Use it at the beginning, end and several times in the body of the text. There is no exact number. Every topic and keyword is different. And you can’t always do it naturally incorporate into the text.
Internal linking
You would not believe how sadly few bloggers in Slovakia use internal links to other articles. Not only will people not be able to read other relevant information on your site, you will also lose the opportunity to strengthen your search engine rankings for a given keyword.
As soon as you write a new article, look at your older ones, which are thematically related and contain at least one keyword for which the new article is optimized. When you find them, put a link to a new article in these words.
If you find such an article but it doesn’t contain the keyword, think about how you can edit the original text for the keyword.
Image / video
Having only text on the web is like having a 2000 site. Today, readers are a little more demanding and the content should be more interactive.
If possible, use illustrative images to illustrate your ideas, or embed an interesting YouTube video directly in the article. You don’t even have to create a video, there are millions of them on YouTube.
If you use images, be sure to include your keyword in the alt tag. But, be careful not to have the same alt tag in each image. Use different variations of the same keyword.
For example, for the keyword ‘summer vacation italy’, the alt tags for multiple images could be as follows:
- summer vacation Italy
- summer vacation in Italy
- summer vacation Italy 2017
- summer vacation Italy destination X
And where is the alt tag set?
If you use WordPress, you can edit the alt tag directly when inserting an image through an alternate text box .

Write longer articles
Longer articles have two main advantages.
You can go deeper, write in more detail, and portray yourself in the eyes of your readers like a true expert. If you didn’t know anything about it, you still couldn’t write so much about it.
Second, you can use your keyword multiple times in the text, or you can break down your topic from multiple perspectives and link it to multiple articles.
And how many words should it be? 1200 and more. If you say who will read it, then you are right that no one. Especially if you give them a reason not to read further. People don’t leave longer articles because they would be long, but for completely different reasons. The two most common are:
- The article is boring
- readers have known the information from the article for a long time
Why do people last to watch a two-hour movie? Because it’s not boring and they don’t know how it will turn out. Therefore, they keep their attention and watch until the end.
But this is not all. There is a third reason why longer articles pay off.
Knowing how to increase website traffic is just one piece of the puzzle. The second is to keep people on the page because it gives Google a signal that your site is relevant and provides exactly what people were looking for. And this can be done by giving people longer and more detailed answers.
On the other hand, if you click on a result but leave after a few seconds, it would mean that the search engine does not provide relevant information for that keyword. In translation, this means lower positions.
However, with shorter articles, people also leave earlier. Therefore, it pays to have longer articles. Although you will kill them for hours, writing them will help you in the long run.
Write articles with high added value
A lot of content is created on the Internet every day. Most of it is complete ballast. Google aims to be the best search engine in the world for people to use. So why should he serve people with ballast, even though it contains those keywords?
Therefore, it is not enough to just write articles and incorporate keywords there. You need to go much further and provide information that no one else has written. It is ideal to present them in such a way that no one has been caught on it for a very long time.
Examples for you for inspiration:
How to take magnesium when and how much daily? (verified information)
What is the best collagen on the market? (objective comparison)
A word at the end
Search engine optimization has been one of the most important online marketing strategies for many years. Although there are rumors that SEO is dead or gradually disappearing, this is not quite the case. If you are blogging or people in the thousands are searching for keywords related to your services or products, it pays to be in the first place, because this way you can get a lot of traffic.
And with WordPress, article optimization isn’t as challenging as you’d think, so you can easily increase site traffic without programming knowledge.
I believe that the article helped you answer the question of how to increase site traffic. There is only one left. Use these recommendations to drive Google web traffic in action.
