Contributor is one of the user roles in WordPress. After logging in, the contributor has the option to view and edit only their own posts.
Contributor – powers
The contributor may write, create and manage their own posts or pages, but does not have the right to publish them. Only authors, editors and administrators have the right to publish their own articles and pages. This user role has the least authority to create and manage a website.
Posts and pages created by a contributor can be published by the site administrator or editor.
